We are Peter Abbott and Bev Maltby and we will do all we can to ensure that you feel welcome at Hurst Green Bed & Breakfast and enjoy your stay here. 

Pete has had a long career in the food business; he is a baker and patissier by training and once owned and ran his own village bakery.  Since then he has supplied prestigious customers, including Fortnum & Masons and St James Palace, with hand-made marzipan models.  His other business is now making chocolate wedding cakes and you will be offered a slice of his delicious cake and a cup of tea or coffee when you arrive.  

We are endeavouring to be as ‘green’ as possible in our business practices and all our bath and hair care products come from the ‘Ecossential’ range.  We use organic and locally produced food where possible (though never sacrificing taste and quality!) and environmentally friendly cleaning products.  Our policy, if you are here for a longer stay, is to wash bedding and towels every 4 days (unless you ask us to do it more often) and all our electricity is from a renewable source.  We garden organically and use our own produce when it is available.

There is a patio in the garden and you are welcome to relax there, or in another part of the garden, at any time with a cup of tea or glass of wine. 

You can have your breakfast at the table on the patio if you wish when the weather is good enough.
